What Does Authentic Larimar Look Like?
Authentic Larimar is a rare blue variety of pectolite found in the Dominican Republic. Its beauty comes from natural variation: one stone may show flowing white patterns, while another may be predominantly blue with only subtle changes in tone and mineral depth.
No two natural stones are exactly alike. Look for organic movement, irregular details and color that appears to have depth beneath the polished surface—not simply a design printed on top.

Natural lines and shapes flow irregularly, like water, clouds or Caribbean waves.

Real Larimar may range from pale aqua to a rich Caribbean blue within the same stone.
Individual Character
Every genuine Larimar stone has its own color, inclusions and natural design.
Important: Some genuine Larimar is deep blue with very little white veining. The absence of dramatic white patterns does not automatically mean that a stone is fake.

- Seller transparency: Look for clear photos, accurate measurements, metal information and a reasonable return policy.
Avoid Destructive Home Tests
Do not scratch, burn, bleach or expose Larimar to harsh chemicals. These tests can permanently damage a genuine stone and still may not provide a reliable answer. When certainty is important, professional gemological testing is the safest option.
